My name is Dana, and I am a certified yoga instructor with a background in physical therapy. I've been teaching yoga both in the United States and internationally for the past ten years. My journey into yoga began through my own experiences with marathon running and cycling. Yoga became instrumental in my personal healing and in enhancing my physical abilities.
During my time as a yoga instructor, I faced significant challenges, including recovering from two severe cycling accidents. The most recent incident occurred just a year ago when I was critically injured and had to undergo multiple emergency surgeries. At one point, I was reliant on life support and unable to walk without assistance, often needing a wheelchair for mobility due to my weakened state.
Despite these hardships, I have made remarkable progress in rebuilding my strength and capabilities. I am here today because I believe strongly that my experiences have a purpose—to enable me to better support and inspire others through yoga and rehabilitation.
In a group class:
-you’re not given the attention you need
-the class is not designed for your needs and what your current limitations or strengths are
-not all of the modifications apply to you
-you don’t have enough space around you to practice sometimes as rooms can be crowded
-depending on where your at physically and mentally that day can be triggering to be around others
In a private lessson:
-you have 100% of the attention from your instructor
-the class is specifically designed for you
-all of the postures are modified to fit your current abilities
-you have more freedom for more space
-you don’t have to worry about others around you and you can focus more easily on what you’re doing
Working with me includes a personalised yoga session tailored to your desired outcome and needs. I will customise a practice that aids your journey toward healing and empowerment. If you enjoy the session, you can opt to continue with a 3-month plan and progress further.
You can sign up for one yoga class at a time available through zoom for the ease and comfort to practice in your own home.
You can sign up for a 3 month plan:
1 class a week
or
2 classes a week
At Adaptive Healing through Yoga, I believe that yoga is more than just a physical practice. It is a way of life that promotes mindfulness, self-awareness, and inner peace. The goal is to help my students cultivate these qualities through the practice of yoga.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you will find a welcoming and non-judgmental space here. I value diversity and strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.
I offer a variety of classes to suit different needs and levels, from gentle and restorative to more challenging and dynamic classes. I’m dedicated to helping you deepen your practice and achieve your goals, whatever they may be.
